Thriving Women Leaders was founded on a simple observation

Accomplished women leaders invest heavily in others — but rarely get the chance to invest in themselves, alongside peers who truly get it.

We created Thriving Women Leaders to change that.

Development designed for the realities of women's leadership

Thriving Women Leaders offers thoughtfully designed experiences for women at different stages of their leadership journeys – from those preparing for larger leadership opportunities to seasoned executives considering what comes next.

Our programs combine expert facilitation, meaningful peer connection, practical insight, and personal reflection. Women gain the space to learn, connect, challenge assumptions, and think more intentionally about the impact they want to have in the years ahead.

Our cohorts are intentionally small and curated through an application process. Conversations are confidential, the experiences are designed specifically for accomplished women leaders, and the relationships often continue long after the program ends.

Who's In The Room With You

Caroline Dowd-Higgins

Founder, Executive Coach, Speaker, Best-Selling Author, and Podcast Host

After decades serving as an executive leader in higher education, large non-profits, and the corporate realm, Caroline launched her own consulting firm to empower transformational change for women navigating the world-of-work.

Her experience has been steeped in career and talent development working with leaders and organizations to reach peak performance and profitability while also honoring their health and wellbeing. She is an ICF-certified executive coach and credentialed in the Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered method. Her TEDx talk, Reinventing a Career & Defining Success on Your Terms, draws on the same questions that anchors her coaching practice. She is the author of two best-selling books on career design and leadership – This Is Not the Career I Ordered and Your Career Advantage – and the host of Your Working Life, an award-winning podcast with listeners in 72 countries. A seasoned keynote speaker, her signature talk on The Wellness Advantage: Do Your Best Work and Live Your Best Life is in high demand.

Caroline’s coaching philosophy comes from a pattern she’s noticed across two decades of this work: most senior women have an incredible work ethic, but they are missing out on living a robust personal life and want to embrace their life ethic. It’s about helping them name what they want and design their life and career future, so it doesn’t happen by default.

Caroline brings the warmth of a thoughtful interviewer, the directness of someone who has spent her career in conversation with senior leaders, and a deep belief that women’s lives and careers don’t have to follow the path that’s been handed to them.

Kim spent more than twenty years inside the rooms her clients are navigating. As Vice President of Talent Management for a Fortune 500 industrial distributor, she helped shape senior leadership strategy at scale. She later led human resources within higher education and the nonprofit sector. Along the way, she hired, coached, promoted, and advised hundreds of leaders—and experienced firsthand the opportunities, pressures, and pivotal decisions that come with executive responsibility.

She also understands that leadership doesn’t happen in isolation. Throughout her career, Kim balanced the demands of executive leadership with the equally important roles of wife, mother, daughter, friend, and community member. Like many of the women she works with, she knows what it feels like to spend years building a successful career while supporting the people who matter most—only to reach a point where the question shifts from “What’s next professionally?” to “What’s next for me?”

Kim’s background shapes the way she coaches. She believes meaningful growth happens when leaders consider both who they are and the environments in which they lead. Her approach blends thoughtful challenge, practical insight, and genuine partnership. Clients value her ability to create space for honest reflection while helping them translate insight into action.

Today, Kim is the founder of NorthSpring Leadership Consulting, where she works with senior executives and leadership teams navigating transitions, growth, and organizational complexity. She holds an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and is an ICF-certified executive coach. Through Thriving Women Leaders, Kim creates space for accomplished women to step out of the demands of everyday leadership, reconnect with what matters most, and thoughtfully shape the next chapter of their lives and leadership.
